Shirt/tie or plain collar, black gown and cap. Elementary tour - 10:30AM (preregistration required) Wednesday, May 18th @ 8:00 AM Report to Auditorium - Attendance Special Speaker Thursday, May 19th - Awards Ceremony 12:15 By Invitation - Report to Auditorium Seniors Arrive by 11:30 AM Must wear cap/gown/tassel Follow appropriate dress guidelines Friday, May 20th - Graduation Practice on the field 9:00AM Report to the field (please dress casual and appropriate for weather) Sit in your assigned seat in Alpha order. Tuesday, May 24th - Graduation 2022 Ceremony - 7PM Location: MHS Cobourn Field (Rain or Shine) Parking Lots Open: 5:30 p.m. Stadium Gates Open: 6:00 p.m. Ceremony: 7:00 p.m. |
What should I wear? Appropriate Dress for Photographs, Awards & Graduation * Graduation Cap & Gown * Dress (1-2 inches above the gown hemline and does not show in the V portion of the gown) * Black or dark dress shoes (no flip flops) OR * White collared shirt with dark tie * Dark slacks (preferably black) * Dark dress shoes & socks (preferably black) Can I decorate my cap? Yes, you may decorate your cap. Please follow these guidelines: It is appropriate to put the following on your cap. Thank a parent, grandparent, teacher, friend Recognize the university you will be attending your graduation year the branch of military you will be joining your home country’s flag NOTE: Only the flat, top area of the mortar board may be decorated. There may be nothing hanging down from any of the sides of the cap. Not appropriate to put on your cap: Any advertisement, symbols, abbreviations, initials, words, slogans, patches, or pictures that: Refer to drugs or controlled substances, tobacco, alcohol, or weapons or be of a sexual nature. denote an affiliation with gangs or which advocate drug use, violence, illegal activity, or disruptive behavior which is detrimental to the safety and welfare of other students. Be obscene, profane, vulgar, or lewd. Include numbers other than the graduation year. Threaten the safety and welfare of any person. Decorations must be flat on the surface of the cap. 3-D creations are prohibited. Graduation caps will be reviewed and approved in advance of the ceremony. Other Tips: Press the gown before picture day & graduation. Do not use steam. Make sure your name is on all your garments, especially your cap. Double wrap the tassel on the cap to avoid losing the tassel. The high school graduation cap is worn flat on the head, one point of the square face forward. (like a diamond) Tassels are worn on the right side at the start of the ceremony and moved to the left when the graduates have received their diploma. |
